Why my Nani is the Sunshine of my Soul!

Growing up, I have always looked up to you Nani. I don't know if it is because you are older than me... by 3 months and 16 days to be exact, or just because you are so cool. :) haha But I think it is because you are such a great example in so many ways. I have always loved you as far back as I can remember and I think you can see our love in many of our home videos... unless I'm being mean to you or something then I truly am sorry and hope that you can forgive me. teehee. But I don't think I ever was.. that I know of. And if I was, I again sincerely apologize. 

I remember that I would always love visiting your house and I would get super excited when my mommy would tell me that we were going to la Tia Gloria's. It was always the longest drive ever but I knew that we were almost there when I saw the line of tall green skinny trees to the left of the freeway.

Your house was always so cool and fun and I always wondered why you didn't have a basement. But your huge backyard made up for it! We would always beg you to ride around on the lawn mower, which for some reason was so much fun! That and the 4-wheeler. One time you took me out with you and we went through the little vineyard thingy and we made up a story. I honestly can't remember what the story was but it was super fun and funny! And we would always check the animal traps to see if anything was caught. I'm glad we never found any when I was there because I probably would have started crying. One time it was super muddy and for some reason one of us lost one of our shoes and so the other drove all the way back to the house to get another one! I'm still not sure why. Oh and your hammock!! That was always a lot of fun too! I loved sleeping over at your house. I remember one time you had school the next day and I wanted to go with you but your mom said no, and so I went to Macy's with your mom and bought groceries. She let me pick out what cereal to buy for you I couldn't wait for you to get home so that I could show you what I got you! When I would sleep over, I would always sleep with you in your bed and Jessica would always start crying because she wanted me to sleep with her. And so I always went over to her bed as soon as you went to sleep and when you would wake up and see me sleeping with her, you would be mad in the morning and wouldn't talk to me for a little bit. haha I always felt so bad!

Oh Nani, you have always been so beautiful and I was always jealous (and still am ;) ) that all of the boys wanted you. haha And when you met my friends the next day they would be like, "so when is Melanie coming over again?" And I would lie and say "I don't know" just because I didn't want you to steal all of my friends. It sounds so silly and I don't know why I thought that you would steal my friends but you know how middle school minds are! Now to all of my new friends that I make I'm like "You have to meet my cousin!!" 

I have also always loved your love for the Gospel. You always know what to say and how to say it. I have always looked up to you for that and I have wished that I could have a way with words like you do. Whenever I need to or want to say something good or inspiring I always end up saying something awkward or silly but for some reason it still works! haha But still... I have always and will always love that about you. You are so sincere. 

Because this is getting sort of kind of long, I'm going to end with one of the greatest memories of them all... THE TICKLE MONSTER!!!! I love how we came up with that and I hope that we will always continue to be visited by him when we have our sleepovers! I also hope that we will still have sleepovers even when we are married and have multiple babies running around the house! It's going to be the best!
